Siemens AG to Share Insights from Data Infrastructure Transformation at Gartner Digital Workplace Summit
LONDON - 7 September 2017 - Siemens AG, a global technology powerhouse, will share insights on how to unlock the power of the cloud by consolidating legacy infrastructure, significantly decreasing cost and empowering the digital workplace at the Gartner Digital Workplace Summit on September 18th in London. During the presentation, Elmar Spreitzer, head of IT infrastructure strategy and innovations at Siemens, will detail how Siemens has collaborated with Axway (Euronext: AXW.PA), a catalyst for digital transformation, to empower its 330,000 employees in 150 countries to quickly, easily and securely share digital content by taking advantage of the latest innovations in enterprise file sync and share (EFSS) technology.
To support “SmartStorage,” the company’s largest digitalization initiative aimed at delivering critical internal and external file sharing capabilities to employees, Siemens needed to break down collaboration barriers and securely modernize its digital workplace. By moving to Axway Syncplicity, Siemens was able to consolidate its data infrastructure, reduce IT administration costs, increase user productivity, and enhance content collaboration between employees, partners and suppliers. In addition, Siemens safeguarded company data with standardized backup features, conducted regularly company-wide.
During the presentation at Gartner Digital Workplace Summit, Elmar will explain how organizations can improve productivity with a consumer-like, mobile user experience, allowing easy external sharing and Office 365 integration and collaboration, even when offline. In addition, attendees will learn how they can replace expensive legacy NAS storage-based file sharing with a modern public, private or hybrid cloud EFSS solution to reduce the cost per gigabyte, saving millions.
