What is Axway MFT on AWS and how does it work?
What do we mean by, Axway MFT on AWS?
“Axway MFT on AWS” refers to Axway’s deployment offering, which provides subscription access to Axway software products via a single-tenant virtual cloud environment on AWS.
What are the benefits of using Axway MFT services versus deploying it myself on AWS?
Axway cloud teams operate the solution for you. This includes the hosting layer consisting of the infrastructure and related technical elements (e.g., server, network, database, operating system, middleware), and the application layer, where Axway monitoring, supervision and security management tools are installed and run by our experts.
Does Axway provide added security beyond the AWS security and compliance framework?
Yes. Axway has a comprehensive security program, including our Information Security Management System (ISMS), Secure Software Development Lifecycle, and Secure Cloud Operations for AWS per industry standards and security best practices. Axway maintains several certification programs. External auditing agencies audit our security standards – including ISO 27001:2013, AICPA/SOC2 Type II and Common Criteria – annually.
Can I choose my AWS regions? If so, what options are available?
Yes. AWS becomes the applicable Hosting Services Partner (HSP) for your Axway MFT Cloud Services subscription. Axway offers several different HSP data center regions where your services will be configured. In addition, if purchased, Axway may establish a Disaster Recovery Environment in a separate HSP region with a wide choice of SLAs or security options.
What about high availability and disaster recovery?
The Axway teams operating your service are committed to your SLAs. For instance, for SLA Levels Platinum (99.99%) and Gold (99.9%), high availability is delivered and your Axway MFT Cloud Services will be distributed across at least two “Availability Zones” within the defined AWS regions to meet the SLA.
Do I have to pay for my AWS consumption in addition to Axway MFT services?
No. As a customer, you are entitled to the AWS production environment usage metrics you set during your subscription. These usage metrics apply to the number of file transfers you will pay for in a given period. Price varies according to SLAs and subscription options.
